I give this book a 5 out of 5. In “This Side of Darkness” by Andromeda Storm[I/], she talks of her child hood and how she overcame abuse. It is riveting and suspenseful, with lots of cliffhangers at the end of many chapters. She does a great job of giving details to describe people, animals and other things.

The way she talks about her childhood and the struggles she faced is very relatable. She speaks of overcoming abuse, neglect and bullying while juggling the normal things we face during childhood. She describes her struggles with her parents and the struggles they face themselves, which helps to see parents as people.

While not everyone can relate to her story, the way she writes about her struggles in “This Side of Darkness”[I/] makes it easy to read and hard to put down. She talks of her first love and the heartbreak of the first breakup. She talks of finding herself and learning to love who she is, which I think is something we can all relate to no matter your story.

I find it truly inspiring the way she talks of struggling with addictions, and finding the strength to overcome them. In the midst of abuse and struggling to bond with her parents, she finds the strength to be herself and not give in to the fear. She describes monsters and how she learned to not be afraid.

“This Side of Darkness” by Andromeda Storm[I/] is truly a must read. It is an inspiration to anyone struggling with abuse and addiction. It is an inspiring story about overcoming and learning to forgive.
