ARA Review by ashwin khadka of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All" by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes is a deeply moving and inspiring reflection on human connection, strength, and the shared journey we're all on. Hughes speaks with a unique combination of simplicity and depth, inviting readers to consider the unseen bonds that bind us together — regardless of our histories, challenges, and differences.

The book is replete with genuine warmth and understanding. Hughes reminds us, gently, that however isolated we feel, we are never alone. With inspiring stories, philosophical insight, and emotional honesty, he presents us with a hopeful vision of a world where understanding and compassion can heal division and isolation.

What I appreciated most about this book was its authenticity. The author never promises us something we do not get, nor does he sugarcoat the suffering we go through. Instead, he embraces the "beautiful struggle" — the idea that pain and happiness exist side by side, and by embracing both, we are made stronger and more cohesive.

The writing style throughout is warm and reflective, but at the same time, extremely easy to read. Hughes writes complex ideas in such a way that they are intimate and relatable. I read the book through in one sitting, but the wisdom lingered long after the book was finished. It challenged me to examine my own relationships, my own sense of direction, and the far-reaching effects a small act of kindness can have on humanity.

"In It Together" is not just a book — it's a call to live more compassionately, to seek out the humanity in each other, and to remember that the journey to healing and to connection is one we're all on together. I highly, highly recommend this book to anyone who feels disconnected, disillusioned, or just longing for more purpose in life.

Without hesitation, I would give "In It Together" 5 out of 5 stars. It's a beautifully worded reminder that no matter what things get, we are always stronger together.

I think this book may be describing exactly where I feel I am in life. It seems to delve into complex themes that I am personally struggling with and finding a book that relates to my current struggles feels like a miracle. Thank you, I’m definitely checking this one out.
