There were times when I was completely on the edge of my seat, shouting out loud, "Oh my God, OH MY GOD!". I'm surprised no one in my family came running in to find out what was wrong! It's been a while since I have read a book that had me shaking and trembling and crying. This was one of the best books I have read all year.

The entire time 5 was reading I was commending both the characters for their bravery and the author for the ability to craft scenes so vivid and sometimes horrifying. This book just reinforced my belief that humans got feet and not fins or wings for a reason.

I'm scared of being out in the sea too. The initial scenes would have been intense for me too if there hadn't been so much of technical terms used. I have zero nautical knowledge and I was mostly distracted trying to make sense of certain things, so I couldn't fully take in that feeling.

The fire, the ocean, and the dead body! This book definitely has it's own share of spooky scenes. Even though these scenes were slightly disturbing, I never had to walk away from the book or put it down for that matter.

Actually, I liked the intense scenes because without them, the story might become boring. The mystery the author created was amazing. It was not too suspenseful for me. And I guess it was spooky when the ship's engine caught on fire. I literally had my heart pounding.

The scene that shocked me with its intensity was Larry's sudden accident. I was shaken by what happened to his hand and leg, and I put myself in the place of his wife, Louise, and empathized with her emotional struggle.

I find the book generally intence because I've always had alot of respect for water bodies. Other scenes like when Larry had his hand chopped off scared me alot too.
