How "intense" did you find the book? Suspensful?

Re: How "intense" did you find the book? Suspensful?
I agree. The book wasn't spooky in a "whoo, whoo" ghosty, haunted house way. The author was very skilled in keeping us in the moment however and that intensified each scene, some more than others of course. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!Melchi Asuma wrote: ↑08 May 2019, 10:02 I'm not sure I can really call up a most intense scene for me. I think the entirett of the book was actually compelling and 'took me on that ride' but none of it was actually spooky.

I was worried too. I'm glad it turned out the way it did. Switching to the ones on land who were already safe was a relief, yes. But to me, those parts were almost 'separate' in my mind so they didn't help at all in easing the intensity of the other scenes. Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts with me!OskaWrites wrote: ↑09 May 2019, 06:32 I don't think I found much of it so intense, I guess because it would sometimes cut away from the action to talk about people who were safe on land - which for me worked as a breather to stop me getting too distressed. The end was the most intense I thought, because I was convinced something bad would happen during the search.

Really? I'm always tempted to read the last chapter but have resisted temptation on all but a couple of occasions. I agree about the movie part tho. I acquaint myself thoroughly with the details (and deaths) in movies before I go to see them. Saves me from unwanted surprises in the theatre as I tend to be very emotional. I'm the kind of person who skips to the end of the story as I cannot bear to not know how things will end. Or I might go to watch a suspense movie knowing who did it. Looks like as I expected, this might be a bit more intense than I can handle.

Definitely. Planes are the better option. I would be absolutely terrified of even a sixish foot wave. I can't imagine twelve or twenty-foot ones! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!imSunshine wrote: ↑11 May 2019, 04:17 I am the type who opt to travel by plane than the ocean because I feel like I have always been afraid of its devious big waves especially when you get stuck in the midst of the ocean..It's pretty scary and this scary picture vividly formed in my mind while I was reading the material.. I liked its thrilling aftertaste.

You've all made statements that reveal that the author has done his job well.
So many projects…so little time.
