I agree. The book wasn't spooky in a "whoo, whoo" ghosty, haunted house way. The author was very skilled in keeping us in the moment however and that intensified each scene, some more than others of course. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

I don't think I found much of it so intense, I guess because it would sometimes cut away from the action to talk about people who were safe on land - which for me worked as a breather to stop me getting too distressed. The end was the most intense I thought, because I was convinced something bad would happen during the search.

I was worried too. I'm glad it turned out the way it did. Switching to the ones on land who were already safe was a relief, yes. But to me, those parts were almost 'separate' in my mind so they didn't help at all in easing the intensity of the other scenes. Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts with me!

Anytime! It's great to meet another person as considerate as myself. Have been told I am a rare breed because I always consider others.

I'm trying to make up my mind whether to read this book or not. I'm the kind of person who skips to the end of the story as I cannot bear to not know how things will end. Or I might go to watch a suspense movie knowing who did it. Looks like as I expected, this might be a bit more intense than I can handle.

I am the type who opt to travel by plane than the ocean because I feel like I have always been afraid of its devious big waves especially when you get stuck in the midst of the ocean..It's pretty scary and this scary picture vividly formed in my mind while I was reading the material.. I liked its thrilling aftertaste.

Really? I'm always tempted to read the last chapter but have resisted temptation on all but a couple of occasions. I agree about the movie part tho. I acquaint myself thoroughly with the details (and deaths) in movies before I go to see them. Saves me from unwanted surprises in the theatre as I tend to be very emotional. Definitely. Planes are the better option. I would be absolutely terrified of even a sixish foot wave. I can't imagine twelve or twenty-foot ones! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!

Hearing about how intense, frightening, and suspenseful this book is only makes me want to read it even more.

You've all made statements that reveal that the author has done his job well.

My worst nightmare is being on the water when a crisis happens! It was very intense for me to read parts of this story! I won't be going on cruises any time soon!
All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts
