It was horrifying indeed.

I felt the anxiety and dread of having to wait if the rest of his crew was going to be saved. And then when it was said that William was the only one missing, and Sarah convinced Myra that he was still alive, the moment where they started to form a team and a plan to search for William was so pivotal and exciting.
True.

Yeah, that part too. Especially the part that mentions some members sustained burns as a result of the fire.

And despite the efforts to save his life, he expired. Quite saddening.
It was a bummer, but the efforts they gave just to keep him alive was enough to semt yoir heart and hopes soar high. I mean the urgency in that scene was just so vivid.

Actually it was in the very beginning, the fire on the ship and having to escape in the lifeboats. They cut it so close getting off of the ship I was anticipating someone perishing right away! Fire is something at the top of my fear list anyway so beginning the book that way pumped me up right away!

Larry's accident was definitely an unexpected plot twist for me. I thought that Larry was going to make it back alive and when he did not I was truly surprised.

The part where Larry lost his hand and his leg. It was so unexpected. Then the part where they were searching for William. I wanted him to be alive. I wanted his strength to keep him going when others might fail.

For me the whole scene where they were trying to board the ship. The description of the big waves, how the accident was described when they saw that Larry's leg was amputated. It felt like a was watching a movie the whole time.

The first part of the book when they all jumped onto the lifeboats was a real page-turner. Having this emergency situation happen right at the beginning of the book was clever as it got me hooked and anxious to see what would happen. Would Steve and his crew survive or would they succumb to injuries and hypothermia?

Definitely when Myra and her friends went out to find William. The ending was fast approaching, Wiliam was in trouble, and my heart just about burst in worry.

The plot segment that raised my adrenaline was when Buckhorn was going to board the Seattle Express after Warhorse had a good line on her. The way Louise handled them made me so proud of her, even though her husband was injured. She knew she still had a job to do and she did it so well.

Me too.... I wasn't expecting his death. I thought he was going to survive owing to the fact that someone attended to his wounds and stopped the bleeding.

Two moments: when the crew was in the lifeboat and it kept tipping upside down. The experience was described so vividly, the smells, the cold, the terror of the crew members who didn't have much hope left. The other moment was when they found William, and then realized that he wasn't dead. I did not expect that, and it was an astonishing moment.
