Personally, the part that Larry's leg and arm were amputated got me tensed owing to the fact that his life was at stake. Being in the middle of the sea, no medical supplies available, and Larry's blood level was low.

For me, it was when Myra and her crew went on their hunt to rescue William.

I liked the part of the lifeboat being tossed about and knowing more about their condition onboard. I would have liked to know more what the survivors were thinking and saying while on the lifeboat. How did they keep sane through it all? What would they be saying to each other, not knowing if they were to live or die?

It started was when Steve got a call that one of his crew might have been found. I felt the anxiety and dread of having to wait if the rest of his crew was going to be saved. And then when it was said that William was the only one missing, and Sarah convinced Myra that he was still alive, the moment where they started to form a team and a plan to search for William was so pivotal and exciting.

For me it was the very first part of the book, the fire. The sense of helplessness when everything was going wrong and norhing anyone could do could save them from being hurt or abandoning ship.

For me it was the part when the Warhorse crew were trying to board and get a line on the Express. I got tense when Larry's leg and arm got amputated as well.

For me, I think it was the part where William was discovered. The descriptions of his state made me think that someone was going to pronounce him dead. There are other scene segments though that raised a lot of tension.

There were many parts that got my adrenaline pumping, but I would have to say when they got into the lifeboat knowing they would have to literally drop it into the raging sea! I could almost feel the anxiety when they unsecured it from the ship and felt themselves dropping the last few feet into the water! At that point they had no control of either vessel for those few seconds! Feeling out of control of any situation makes one's adrenaline pump!

Both Larry's leg and arm getting amputated and the fire. I mean, like you said, not enough medical supplies and no way out except the open sea. I was really thought they are all doomed when both happened.

True. That part was also scary.

And despite the efforts to save his life, he expired. Quite saddening.

I also thought he is dead, only to realize he wasn't.
