One thing I really loved about this book was the depth of so many characters. I liked that none of them were perfect. They all had strong points and flaws. I've been having trouble picking my favorite. I find I was really drawn to Pete. He seemed to have such a good heart despite having the hardships with his leg and marital situation. I found myself wanting to read Strong Heart so I could learn a little bit more about him. I also really liked Anne, despite the fact that we never read the story from her point of view. She was so strong and brave despite being young and inexperienced. She was terrified of what she had to do but did it anyway.

Larry. Though many might not choose him, his character really stood out to me in the book.

I liked him as well. I liked how he continued to call his wife darlin' even while he was on his deathbed. I was glad that his character was redeemed in the end, especially since he gave his life for their cause.

I really liked Sarah. I kept thinking I wish I was as brave and positive as her especially in a situation like that. Travis, too, for some reason. I enjoyed reading his chapters

Louise's character made a long lasting impression on me. She's a bit mysterious, especially when Larry died.

William was my favourite character, his stories were somewhat fascinating. And he inspired courage and hope to the crew in the second lifeboat.

I would have to say that Larry was my favorite character. He had lots of energy throughout his part in the book.

It’s so hard to choose a favorite. William, because of his strength and his determination to help his crew no matter what. Pete, because he was doing what had to be done to support himself and his son. Myra, because she was strong and stuck to her guns with her reports. Sarah, because she was always so positive, helpful, and loving.

That is true they all had a significant role and made a tremendous impact.

I'm torn between Tugboat Annie and Travis! Can't I just call it a tie?

There are so many fascinating characters in this book but I have to say William was my favorite. He seemed to have a somewhat calming effect on the crew, especially in the lifeboats.

I would say Steve because he exhibited excellent leadership in trying to find out any news that would tell him all of his crew were safe. He also showed he was an excellent father who spent his days working in order to pay the medical bills of his son and spending the other time with his son. That he handle the possible blame coming his way from Buckhorn professionally was also amazing. All in all, Captain Steve takes the MVP.

I would say Larry,he had such a strong personality. My other pick would be William he was such an inspiring character.

Pete. He's a dedicated father and devoted to his job, he keeps his head up even when so much is against like everyone else. I think he's sweet and just trying to right by the people he cares about.

I have a hard time choosing my favorite as well but I really liked Williams’s character. He reminded me of my own grandpa. William is a hard worker, caring, and knows his way around the outdoors. His leadership was essential to the other survivors of the other stranded crew members, but he wasn’t arrogant or pushy.
