I agree that hope and faith were important themes, but I also liked the community feeling where people came together to help each other out. It started with the vigil for William at Myra's house, then the prayer ceremony. After Larry died, they came for his memorial service whether they were close to him or not. Even in the end there were volunteers for William. I liked that a lot.

I liked the theme of perseverance and faith. Without these 2 qualities, the characters were doomed in the scenario they were in. I liked how the author used these qualities in making the characters overcome such difficult situations.

I liked the spirituality theme the most because I loved how the author highlighted the power of praying in desperate situations. For example, I appreciated the description of the moment when all those close to William prayed for his spirit.

The most conspicuous themes for me were those of hope/faith, and survival. The way characters found ways of hanging on even in the harshest of conditions impressed me alot.
