I completely understand where you're coming from on that score!! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!Adedayo+23 wrote: ↑20 May 2019, 03:31 The author made use of enough descriptive elements to bring the story to life as you read it. The suspense was almost tangible. It was adequately intense enough to trigger my aquaphobia.
He definitely kept the suspense tightly tuned! I'm glad you enjoyed the book! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts with me!NIRUPAMA JHA wrote: ↑20 May 2019, 17:51 sea expeditions are always full of suspense and the author has finely emoted the intensity of the journey. you never know what comes and what goes .........i simply loved this book.

Very true, and it is quite unpredictable as well, despite what weather forecasters would have us think! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!OliviaLouise wrote: ↑22 May 2019, 21:37 I think that there is an inherent suspense and intensity to using the ocean as a setting. Water is such a powerful force, and being on a boat in the middle of the ocean is so isolating!

With most books, so do I. But this one revolved around one of my worst fears. Naturally, that made the scenes which normally would have been exciting, somewhat overwhelming. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts with me!

I agree; events do sometimes seem to take on a life of their own. Multi-tasking should be in the job description for deckhands! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!VernaVi wrote: ↑29 May 2019, 05:57 This book was intense. It describes the intensity and adrenaline one feels when trying to avert a disaster that seems to want to happen. The ocean scenes of salvaging the boat that was adrift were described perfectly. Things move fast on a boat. Too fast. A deckhand has to have an eye on everything at once while still doing the job at hand. This book had the right amount of suspense.
