If you could, how would you change the ending?

I think I might have let William die to add tragedy at the end. Such books always leave an impression instead of happy endings.

I think even if I could, I would not change the ending because Charlie Sheldon's ending perfectly fitted the book.

Seriously you'd love another tragedy something that heart that much William has a young girl can't think of that at all

The ending doesn't appeal so much to me in fact it made me want to hate the whole book ....what I would have done, I would let it be known if really and indeed William survived this is because it's written that William was half dead and half alive....so I would made it known to the audience after then the case on William and Steve if they got their license cancelled or not.

I think with Larry already having died, it wasn't necessary to have William die too. The book portrayed both sides of the coin, and I didn't mind that. I think it also added a bit of plot twist that a lot of people weren't really expecting.

I'm actually very torn on this. It didn't feel very realistic to have both Anne and William, and actually their entire crew, survive the cold and harsh conditions. But at the same time, I didn't want Sarah and Myra to feel such sorrow either, so I was a bit glad he appears to have survived?

I wouldn't change the ending, but I'd want a few things added to it like, Travis trying to find out what Buckhorn is trying to hide, Steve going through the trial and getting a good compensation, people like Mark who were responsible for the fire getting what they deserve, and knowing for sure if William recovers or dies eventually.
