Favorite and/or least favorite genre?

We definitely all have genres that we absolutely love and others that we avoid like the plague. What are your favorite and least favorite genres to read?

I absolutely love to read fantasy, but I don't really enjoy cozy mysteries.

I love sci-fi/fantasy and mysteries. My least favorite genre is non-fiction, and I don't read self-help books.

I'm actually not a big fan of self-help books neither.

Most favourite are fantasy/ sci-fi/ mystery/ psychological thriller. Least favourite is nonfiction esp self help and religious books

My favorite is fantasy adventure. Stuff with shapeshifting, like the Mercy Thompson series are my favorites. My least favorite is erotica. Ugh, I cannot get over the wording some of those authors use to describe the scene and various body parts.

I would like to begin by contesting the assumption that the post makes. I believe I am not very fussy about the genre of a text. I have read Bhagavad Gita and at the same time am reading My Story by Kamala Das - two extremes in a lot many ways when considered from the point of view of a stereotypical society. I like Sidney Sheldon as well One Minute Manager. For me, the content of a text is more significant than the genre of a text. Same wine could be delivered in different packages, right?

My favorite genres are spiritual books and mysteries. (Somewhat the same, if you think about it) My least favorite is poetry. I just don't "get" it!

I love sci-fi/fantasy too, but I especially love a well-written dystopian novel.
I really don't like reading self-help books - they all seem the same to me.

Honestly, it's the same for me. I absolutely ADORE fantasy and adventure books. Anything with interesting races, creatures, or unique settings and lots of conflict or action entertain me deeply while mystery and crime novels tend to bore me. I always felt bad whenever my grandmother would gift me murder mysteries because although I knew I would keep them and read them and be thankful for them I wouldn't enjoy them. I could never tell her that, though. Poor soul.

I do very much love horror, though! So anything with a supernatural twist or lots of suspense will really grab me and keep me invested.

I love sci-fi/fantasy but not hard science (I don’t want to know the mechanics of a spaceship I want to hear about the aliens aboard).

Futuristic, multiverse, dystopian and superpowers are my top shelf.

Same. I just can't get myself to read self-help books.

My favorite genre is Romance, also few mysteries here and there and my least favorite is self-help or any non fiction book regarding it. In my opinion they contain the same mumbo jumbo which doesn't really work in real life.
