I felt like the author already created a biased view of him from the beginning to suit the plot.

Again, maybe the society which doesn't frown at long term dating without marriage also contributes to his sloppiness. He is one of those people who do well at work but are almost illiterate in the place of relationships. A mature man would have sought ways to learn about relationships even before getting into one. The role of a man has a lot to do with how the relationship will turn out.
I feel he could have also aspired to be much more than a cop. He could have rose in ranks or something. The fact that the book has his name as part of the title made it look like he had more to offer but his actions were boderline immature even when compared to the college geeks employed in the Cyber room.

He seemed to me like a lazy boyfriend who took his partner for granted. Cynthia was no better for cheating, so she earned no votes from me there. Dan was just all over the place, being complacent one minute, then obsessed the next. His character needed more stability. And charm.
This is just well said. My sentiments, exactly!

I agree too and that was not really realistic. The way the author had developed Dan's character lacked a lot.sayoniwrites wrote: ↑02 Feb 2022, 06:11 I didn't care for his character. He was used as a puppet without any respect by the author. His character was unnecessarily degraded to push Cynthia towards Sky without any story development.

Me too, I actually expected a power couple battling a war together but then the story took a different hit. Dan could have just been excluded from the book and as Part in a tittle toocpru68 wrote: ↑13 Jun 2019, 08:00 Dan was like a ghost. I thought with his name being on the cover, he was going to be a big time character. Not so much. It was like he was just a minor, shadow character that Cynthia was trying to avoid. Basically, Cynthia immaturely cheats on Dan and does the whole cover up thing, Dan wasn’t the problem because he really was portrayed as a nobody. Cynthia, she is the one that has major issues and is not likable for me.
