I really do not think it ether enhance or distract the story. Besides I didn't give this questions so much thought as I read through the story.

The influence of technology was accurate. Didn't do much enhancement and didn't detract the story either.

I love the technical part of this book. I think the technology was just perfect. The computer nerds were all good.

I think to an extent it enhanced the entire context of the story and it was also the only aspect of this book that felt interesting to me.
