Re: The Value of Education
Other than being educated, the author has a knack for curiosity. I guess that's what made him pursue further education. Also, his main goal was to become a doctor to help people. So, I think he knows that by being more educated he could help people more. Education was a stepping stone to his ultimate goal.Achintya wrote: ↑01 Aug 2019, 02:52 I think every child should read this book. It is high time that we have neglected education and tried to earn money. the author has highlighted that there is nothing more highly priced than education. education provides knowledge and that is what people should be gunning for. Be hungry for knowledge rather than money. Keep learning and seep things in is what the author wants this young and arrogant generation to know.

I agree. People are different, so some may be well-educated but did not ahve academic achievements. I believe that in the replies, people see education in four-walls. ANd thinking about it as a broad concept also reminds me that it's not always the case.

Finally! Someone said it! I mean I know the author wants to inspire people, but seeing the replies here that link success with straight As and degrees show that the message about education is being received in the wrong way.ernest kafuna wrote: ↑31 Jul 2019, 16:40 Its good to focus on education as its a weapon to conquer stupidity ,though inhave an issue becouse i feel the book might make that average person to feel less of doing anything,or maybe an average person who tried to secure a scholarship but never succeeded might feel its only becouse of the grades,i feel the book is trying to pass a message that all those succesfull are those who had A’s.

Agree. Society tends to value education, especially academic achievements, so it could be a prerequisite to a successful life. I guess the author did not really expect or planned to have the academic achievements, I ahve a feeling it came naturally with this passion to learn.

I quite agree with this and could not have said it better myself.B Creech wrote: ↑04 Jul 2019, 08:12 There was definitely an emphasis on education. I think the author focused on his academic achievements to inspire others more than to set himself apart. Knowing how hard it is to overcome obstacles in life I think he wanted others to see that regardless of those obstacles if you find something you are good at, and really apply yourself to doing it to the best of your ability, you can overcome anything. He realized the importance of education and wanted others to see it too.

I think for him and others in his situation, education is scene as the gateway from poverty and a promise for a better life. The author shows the kind of determination and willpower needed to not only recognise something that could improve his situation, but to also never stray from that chosen path.ernest kafuna wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 13:10 The author really believes that education is the focal point to making things happen in your favour. He was commited to education and wants to instill the same to others allover the world
