Even reading a small part of the book was inspiring. Persevering through adversity and showing courage in a difficult situation when the odds were set against him inspired me the most.

I found the author's strong character to be really inspiring. He was able to take insults in his stride and also write about it boldly.

It is easy to crush under the conditions the author grew up in, yet he persevered and worked hard to become a successful person. He is beyond inspiring.

I think he's very inspiring. Growing up in such an environment and enduring the things he did, it's only fair to admire his courage and success. Quite exemplary.

The man came from an impoverished background and fought to make something of himself despite the overwhelming odds against him. And what's more? He succeeded.

Of course I'm absolutely inspired!

Yes I did find the author to be inspiring. As his story shows us that anyone can achieve through any adversity as long as you put your mind to it.

I admire his tenacity and perseverance. Not just in his career but also when facing racism. It's not easy to be told that you do not qualify for a certain position because of your skin color, especially from someone who you look upto.
But the path I’ve chosen has always been the right one, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. :)

I find that the author on the other hand just continues doing what he thinks is right and just, even when he is not rewarded or is ignored. I think that is an admirable quality and one which I want to cultivate.
I agree that this was a very inspiring part of his character (which I also should try to cultivate). I feel like his persistence showed how much he wanted to succeed and how determined he was as a person.
It was also inspiring noting how these traits-persistence and determination-were nutured from childhood experiences.
Yeah, that's interesting. I would think that persistence and determination are traits that a person just develop on their own after childhood. But it's interesting how children might be set up to develop them through certain experiences.

The author always stood firm in his goals despite all the obstacles, rather racism and discrimination made him stronger to persist in making his dreams come true and serving his community.

I admire the author’s determination and focus, despite his difficult upbringing and the challenges he faced throughout life. He has demonstrated what is possible to achieve in life, despite incredible odds.

Yes, I agree. At one point they had refused to recognize him ad the best student for some years, but he did not let that bother him and instead kept working to be the best.
These sort of things still happen in the world today. What sets one apart, in the end, is grit!

I think the author's life story is very inspiring. He was brave to endure so much. But especially admirable was his focus. He knew what he wanted and where he wanted to go, and he did not let anything, no matter how unpleasant, get in his way.
