That's an interesting take on The Little Mermaid. I've never thought about it that way. Thanks for sharing!

I agree, The Ugly Duckling does have a helpful and impactful message.DD129 wrote: ↑06 Aug 2019, 12:55 My favorite fairy tale is The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. It has a good message that is helpful and impactful to anyone who reads it, whether child or adult. For a short story whose intended audience is children, it really makes a reader think about their actions or other peoples' actions toward them.

What a great way to put why Beauty and the Beast is your favorite! It's my favorite, tooCaptnkate 50 wrote: ↑08 Aug 2019, 12:40 Beauty and the Beast is a French fairy tale with all of the ingredients for a rich captivating story. Self sacrifice and redemption is the heart of this tale. I love that Belle looks beyond the physical appearance of those she encounters and into the inner soul of the person. Love truly transcends time, space, and magic.
