I am not usually a fan of fantasy, but the story had an interesting premise that kept me reading.

Overall, I thought it was interesting book that was well-written and imaginative. I saw a few similarities to Harry Potter.

I really like fantasy novels and I was pulled in by the likening to Harry Potter. However, as some of the other comments stated, the writing was a little juvenil for my taste, but I do like the concept of an alternative world or parallel universe

I thought this was such a cute story! I know if I had read it when I was younger it would've been a lasting favorite. It's just one of those books that reminds me of childhood imagination and believing that all sorts of magical things could happen

I tried to review this book through an audio book and was unable to finish it. I think that the voices were the majority of the problem. I did enjoy the story line, although it was out of my normal reading comfort zone. I think that if I was actually reading the book then I would have been able to finish it and potentially enjoyed the story more.

I've just started, but the premise of this book really intrigues me. I don't normally read teen fantasy books, but I'm getting a kick out of this one because the description sounds so much like the 12th century account of the green children of Woolpit, England.

Anyone else heard of them before? They were found by some reapers. Couldn't speak English, and their skin had a green tinge which, over time and a more normal diet, faded. After the one surviving child got older and learned to speak the local language, she said that they had come from a land of perpetual twilight. A number of historians of the day talked about them.

Here's a link that talks about them:

I am reading this book now. I loved the concept where a young boy goes into a parallel echo realm. Plot is interesting. Also a lot of animals are included. I am really loving this book, as it takes me to my younger days of fantasy.

The comments make this book sound interesting, especially since one mentions a Harry Potter type world. My bookshelves are full right now, maybe I'll get back to it.

I just finished reading this book and although many of the concepts were interesting, I struggled with finishing the book. The character development was not very well done and I felt that the story jumped around a lot. I would recommend the book for those who like Harry Potter-like stories. I think young adults and teens would enjoy this book.

After reading the reviews, this book reminds me of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. There were magical creatures and dimensions different from the existing world. I think it would be a fun book to reagld regardless of age.

I loved the book very much. This kind of book, i.e fantasy novels, really intrigues me. The story is about a 12-year-old going on an adventure in a parallel world, full of dangers and surprises. The story is very much like Harry Potter but only has faint similarities. The story also resembles Rick Riordan's novels. I would recommend this book to readers who like mythology and thriller stories.

This book was not fully my type, but I enjoyed it! And the orphanage made me think of Hogwarts because of the ways he serves the meals.
