Yes it sounded like Emmy would be joining in on the adventures with her brother too...now that she is able to reveal they are siblings

The promise of more adventures for Will and Emmy...probably in Echoland.
I think there will be more of olan shone!

However, I did like how everything was resolved so neatly and with the possibility for a second book. I was also surprised by the killer, but with that they had more development.
I thought the ending was weird and ended fast as well. Like you, I also liked how all the loose ends came together. I did have a feeling valerian was not all he had seemed though!

I liked how all the loose ends were tied, but I thought the climactic end with the false king was rushed

I agree I always suspected there was more to valerian than was let on. And yes that left a lot of things open for a sequel. The author could take the next book in a few different directions

Did you like the plot twist at the end? Were you surprised by the killer's identity? I was!
I think a twisted plot at the end of a story makes such interesting.

It kind of add to the supence of a story.

Like old adage goes, "the best is always at the end"

Thank you for the question.

The twist added more of a shock value rather than suspense in my opinion!

I do think it was kind of rushed, but not to where I wouldn't rate it 4 stars. I just think it would have been more of a jaw dropper if Fortuna showed up after hearing Valerian admitted what he did. I was thinking it would take that route, instead of him just being killed. I think he deserved much worse, maybe even eternity in shadow pain.

There were other reasons I didnt rate it 4 stars. I thought it was a decent story but not worthy of a perfect rating

I listened to the audiobook. At a certain point, I started wishing for the book to hurry up and end already. Everything felt too drawn out. Yet, when the end came, it seemed abrupt. Everything wrapped up so quickly, it was jarring.

Good plot twist, nice ending, and good set up for potential sequel. Reminds me of when movies end, but leave a little room in case fans want more.

The ending is okay. As for the mystery of the King’s killer, I got to know that it was Valerian through his subtle actions and reactions of certain things. I was not surprised when it was revealed in the end that it was him. I was elated to know that my guess is right.

It didn't seem rushed to me, it just didn't hold that kind of punch that you'd expect from a twist ending for me because I kind of saw it coming.

I don't know, honestly. the ending was not as thrilling as I had otherwise anticipated. I wasn't mad at it though. Just a little bit disappointed.

I think the author did a good job generally, the ending inclusive.
