I do think she add more words and phrases in a sequel. I also liked the pans she used.
Pronouns: She/Her

I would absolutely love a follow-up to this book. I'd really like to see what happens in the future in Echoland!melissy370 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 08:46 The language of the people in Echoland shows how creative the author is in world building. I thought it added a lot to the story and made it more entertaining. And hey, if she wants to add more in a later book, I am all for it.

Same here. But the thing I would love is if the other characters gain more limelight. Like, I would love if we see any quests by any of the side characters.Leah39 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 13:26I would absolutely love a follow-up to this book. As a fantasy author, it's hard to still be original considering the avalanche of books belonging to this genre. However, the author manages to somehow do that while being inspired by different texts from medieval legends to Harry Potter. That's why it was refreshing to notice she carefully thought of various details, including these Echo words and phrases that round up nicely the overall world building.Leah39 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 08:09 I also found that terms to be endearing, since the Echoland society was drastically different in customs from our own. However, if there is a sequel, I'm guessing that the Prince will be King and have made some drastic changes. If his plan works, he'll strip the Fortune Tellers of their power, so the lingo may change a lot. Interesting point you've made - guess we will have to wait and see.
