Honestly, I think it would have been better if the leader was written as a benign character rather than almost a menacing one. I do not care for how he was written.

Don't you know fortune tellers? This is the reason they are fortune tellers. Their behaviours are usually out of the ordinary. You can never trust them. They are qua.

I think it's good to have characters who are on the grey line instead of just black and white.

He is someone who likes power and wants to keep control of that power. Being a little greedy as well probably didn't help his image either.

He is a scketchy old man. He came only when he was summoned and tempted with benefits. From the way he acted when the chest was presented to him, it can be seen that he will only act when it benefitted him.
