I like Steve more. He is a strong character. I like how he humbled the terrorist leader.Ferdinand_otieno wrote: ↑01 Dec 2019, 03:26 The author wrote many interesting and varied characters in the story. For me, I liked Steve Spalding as a character. I liked his patriotism and bravery in facing the terrorism threat. I also loved his growth throughout the story, especially his interaction with Sharon.

This part hook me to read it further, the conspiracy scene is somewhat practical. A good man in the enemy's hand. The escape style of Kim is new to me, I learned on that scenario.Helene_2008 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2019, 18:37 I like Kim Jung Lo! He had to act like he was working against the enemy to create a bomb, but then also make a fatal error in its manufacturing so it wouldn't work. Then he also successfully escapes to live peacefully on his farm.

Hoping for Steve's character will be found again in another novel within this series. It seems that, the story is a bit hanging because of likable characters. The book is quite short for such a good start of a novel.Blindjew wrote: ↑20 Dec 2019, 16:53 Nepotism wins out for me, as my wife was born with the name Soojin. In the beginning, there was a decent amount of detail involving this covert character, and I was looking forwards to seeing her arc. There were teasing threads alluding to potentially more interactions between her and Steve, but, in the end, it bore little more fruit than Steve wondering if he'd see her again. I'm hoping it somehow builds into something in another story. The threads are there; they just need to be woven into another bit of material.

Yeah, Steve, many times overthrows the main character because of his charismatic actions. His character somewhat attracted to mostly all readers, like you.

Lol, at least you are honest. Good on you for having your wife back even in these situations. All kidding aside I was hoping for different directions where Soojin and Steve are a couple. Some more of forbidden romance and more gray area with the characters.Blindjew wrote: ↑20 Dec 2019, 16:53 Nepotism wins out for me, as my wife was born with the name Soojin. I agree that he seemed to run the show after they accepted him.

I'm still puzzled why the author's style of writing usually done in this way; the protagonist was overthrown by another supporting characters. I also notice that in Cynthia and Dan, which is Dorothy's other book. Dan became the supporting character of Cynthia and Sky later on.Prisallen wrote: ↑24 Dec 2019, 17:41I agree that he seemed to run the show after they accepted him.

Her character also makes me nervous, it seems that life only matters for a second. If, they are caught, everything will become worse.
