Some interesting fun facts

The 'man missions' not only introduced exotic picturesque sceneries. There were interesting tidbits to be garnered about the different areas. I, for example, marveled that there are no wild animals that can kill humans in New Zealand. The northern lights were also a wonder.
Did you also find some intetesting fun facts?

I only just downloaded the book and so far, it seems promising. I will be back to give a proper assessment when I'm done reading it.

That is wild, isn't it? That New Zealand would have no natural predators when it's so near to Australia where everything wants to kill you. Don't get me wrong: not all of it CAN kill you, but it WANTS to kill you! LOL
Beyond that, I was most fascinated by the diet described in the trip to Iceland. Although I've never eaten dog, I've known for years that some people do, so that part of the book wasn't a surprise. But PUFFIN burgers?? Seriously? Wow.

I think my favorite one was the one in Japan. I was blown away by the kind of vending machines available there. It was certainly a surprise!

Yes, the vending machines! I would love to experience that!

I was intrigued by the kava ceremony in Fiji (Yasawa Island).

I was surprised that it had all basic human necessities including the luxuriant ones.

I have always found the difference between the wildlife in New Zealand and Australia to be fascinating. Although, the two countries are not nearly as close as we imagine looking at them from North America... The Japanese vending machines sound incredible!

I know, right?! Puffin burgers sound insane, but I also wouldn't partake in moose tongue if traveling through the Canadian wilderness, so exotic cuisines might be best left to the more adventurous. My palate is a bit more tame, lol.

Mine, too! Where I live, the local food that most people eat (not I!!) is cuy. Roasted cuy is considered a delicacy. At a recent fiesta, my daughter tried it just for the bragging rights to say that she had. Cuy is guinea pig. Yeah. They actually eat it. I enjoy trying new foods if they're plantbased, but I'm not an adventurous carnivore. I really got a kick out of
Man Mission's descriptions of their adventurousness in eating. Not just in Iceland, but on all their trips. And how perfect was it that the two main characters became friends at a food fair! LOL

I think there are some places where I'd go hungry although I'm a person who enjoys trying new food. Or I'd ask if they could bring me something that's just vegetables. I was interested to discover that New Zealand does not have any predators that can kill humans.

The New Zealand fact is really interesting! I've been told a few times that New Zealand is a really nice place to visit, but the wild animals part just makes it even better!

I just started reading the book. Currently I am reading the second mission in Japan. So far I like the first night they camped in New Zealand, where they got surrounded by cows.

The scenery alone sounds tiring using for me to add this book to my pile. I love when the setting almost becomes its own character on stories.
