I feel like the author was trying to have a love triangle by creating these situations. To be honest I laugh out loud with that foot fetish things. She is outing socks so that she doesn't turn on Kane. Come on.

Did you also like fall over when Carly drops an Ef bomb and Adam can’t believe she “said a bad word”!!😱😱😱

It was not like she wanted to slap him, it was more of a reflex action. She even apologised afterwards so I think she just felt guilty about Adam.

Clearly he is a new character in the other half of the book. That doesn't make any sense.
But what do I know maybe psychopaths do have manners?!

Maybe that’s the power of young love?

I’m going to second some other responses here and say I think her reaction was quite reasonable. It was a reflex and she felt bad for it, but I don’t think she provoked the kiss. That was on him reading the situation wrong. Sure it could have damaged their relationship but it showed maturity in how they handled the aftermath.

I agree! Kane knew she was in a relationship with Adam. I felt the slap was too harsh, but I guess it was a gut reaction on Carly's part.

I think carly couldn't make the line clear for kane. She could've avoided this because she knew kane had feelings for her. And it was kane's fault too. He could clearly see how close adam and carly are.

Carly should not have slapped Kane, so that was wrong on her part. But at the same time, Kane should have backed off from Carly as he knew she was in a relationship with Adam.

It was very cliche and she definitely bought it on herself in my opinion, although Kane wasnt entirely innocent either.

she seemed to be getting uncomfortable by the time dinner was over, and when he suggested watching a movie. She should have corrected the situation then, especially when he sat so close to her on the couch with his arm around her but she didn't. Maybe that is what led him to believe it was ok to kiss her at the door!

I agree that she brought it on herself. She had opportunities during the evening to keep him from getting too close but she didn't.

Exactly! They both hold accountability for the situation. Carly should have not let the evening come to cuddling on the couch! Kane knew she was in a relationship with Adam so he should not have kissed her!
