I like the way you think! Do you think you will read the next books?S1234 wrote: ↑26 Feb 2020, 04:06Yes. That would have been fun. Instead of a romance between them, Carly takes it upon herself to deal with Adam and becomes an anti-hero in the process to save others from Adam's darker side. You never know this might happen in the next story. Adam's character could go darker.Nym182 wrote: ↑24 Feb 2020, 13:51Oh that sounds like a much more interesting story! Maybe even making Carly more of an anti hero?S1234 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2020, 11:23
I agree. I thought he'd be the villain of the story and Carly was going to have to deal with him while also protecting herself from the Iksha. Ah well. If Carly died one of the Descendants would have to tragically kill him which would be a change for a young adult fiction story.

So I guess he is alot better than many teenagers who go through with whatever they feel like without compassion or thought for others
We just don't see inside most people and read them like books so we don't know what their selves are trying them to do
Doesn't mean I agreed with everything he thought and did though

I'd probably read it if it's up for review here, I wouldn't waste my free time reading it... But if it were, I know going into it that I will most likely be mad the entire time I read it ha

I get what you are saying, I just don't buy that someone who is rapidly going down Psychopath Lane could make such a drastic change in such a short amount of time because he met a girl.readerrihana wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 11:14 There were some disturbing things about Adam in the beginning, yet he showed he had a conscience that prevented him from seeing through with his darker side, and he did seem to have some compassion and even an inner goodness that became more apparent later on

Yes, I think you are right, perhaps it's not just from meeting a girl but something from himself its changing...maybe he just growing up? Becoming more happy?Nym182 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 11:31I get what you are saying, I just don't buy that someone who is rapidly going down Psychopath Lane could make such a drastic change in such a short amount of time because he met a girl.readerrihana wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 11:14 There were some disturbing things about Adam in the beginning, yet he showed he had a conscience that prevented him from seeing through with his darker side, and he did seem to have some compassion and even an inner goodness that became more apparent later on

But I think even if people are going down the wrong road, they can come back, or find another way, especially if they find someone to lead them in the right direction
Perhaps he was in need of that guide

I get what you are saying, and I do think that people can change, but the amount of change Adam experiences in a short amount of time is unrealistic to me... He kidnapped and murdered someone he had planned to rape in a den he found just for that purpose... that's something that would require years and years of therapy.readerrihana wrote: ↑27 Feb 2020, 11:42Yes, I think you are right, perhaps it's not just from meeting a girl but something from himself its changing...maybe he just growing up? I know what you mean- the first book didn't grab me well enough. Ah well! The future of Adam and Carly shall remain a mystery! I'm mainly upset because was expecting one thing and got something else.

That's pretty much how I felt. There was one point where I almost stopped reading because I was so disgusted, but I soldiered on because this is literally about the only job I can do at this point (I'm disabled) and I figured it would be a waste of my time if I quit and didn't get paid for it.

In the beginning it almost felt like there were two Adams fighting each other for control. It would have been interesting to explore that more.
I don't really like how a lot of his darker aspects were explained away but it makes sense in a way.

Same here.. I could not connect with Adam at all.Bettercallyourbookie wrote: ↑01 Feb 2020, 10:44 I agree. I ended up not being able to get through the beginning because Adam was too much for me. He was too negative and angry and I couldn't decide what it was he was angry about.
