I felt Carly's character was better written and well-developed compared to Adam's.
Her demise would have had a terrible effect on Adam since his entire transformation is based on her so far.

This!! Oh my gosh, I still think about Terry and how she was just disregarded in the long run. I wish she had a better resolution.

I loved the suspense in the story. I kept expecting more. But on the ending, I think it was abruptly done.

I kind of knew she wasn't dead. Since Adam would definitely die if Carly did, it seemed unlikely. Otherwise, the other descendants would've really underreacted!

The book was so good but the ending was just sort of...there? It seemed like the ending of a single book story and not a trilogy.

I was slightly confused on why Kane was with Adam and his family/friends during Christmastime at the end. Does he know about the descendants? Where does he think that all these random teenagers came from? I couldn't find an explanation in story.

I didn't think Carly was gone, not after already losing her mother and then winning the battle. But the final ending was pretty dull. I was also interested in what Adam had given to Carly for Christmas, but suppose we find out in the second book?

SPOILERS

The final events all happened a bit too quickly for me: the battle of Greenland, the merge of Dauma and Carly, and Carly giving up her powers. Some chapters (such as Carly's dinner with Kane) were more descriptive than the main events towards the end. It all felt a bit rushed.

I think the book ended well.
