Dauma proved to be a loving mother to Carly and a friend to Adam. I loved her character and her relationship with Adam.

And became a mother figure to Adam? I'll admit, it's nice seeing the bond they have sure. She is a good mother overall. Just that part didn't align with her personality.
That's what I thought too. Dauma didn't acknowledge the fact that Adam could be potentially dangerous for her daughter to be around (even though Carly is more than capable of taking care of her self) and basically gave him the benefit of the doubt even though he chloroformed, kidnapped and basically caused the death of Terry.

I thought Dauma was a bit harsh at first with Adam. Obviously, she was protecting her daughter, but her behavior in the beginning seemed a bit over the top.

I appreciate how Dauma stands up for her daughter and is very protective of her. I also love the fact that she tried to strike a balance between her relationship with her daughter and that with Adam. I feel that the author left out a very big part on illustrate how close Adam and Dauma became. That leaves the reader hanging.

Dauma for me is the smartest and strongest character in the novel. She have some flaws but she treated Adam so well and she's an amazing mother.

Dauma's abilities allow her to see deep into Adam's soul. What she saw allowed her to gradually accept him.

Adam and Dauma were too close for my liking. The way Dauma confided in Adam felt weird given that she was supposedly many decades older and he was dating her daughter.

I loved Dauma's ability and how in the end she was revealed to be much more powerful than we thought in the beginning of the story. I loved her bond with Carly.
