I definitely thought of Twilight when reading this book, and also I thought of the City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments) series as well. The teen angst and young love mixed in with people with supernatural abilities really seemed to bring about some comparisons with the other books mentioned.

I definitely saw some of the Twilight DNA in the book, but I think it may have pulled a bit more from 50 Shades given Adam's poor treatment of Carly, Adam's obsession with his mother, and virtually everything related to the den.

Yes, there is a high correlation between the two.

I really didn't get any kind of twilight vibes from the book. It's really different. For starters its about Descendants and its more of an exploration of powers for every descendants, twilight was mostly unveiling of truth of Edward by Bella and then their budding relationship. Even though Opaque has its romance contents, it's not the core focus.

When I read your title, I immediately thought nope it doesn't. Then I read the reason why you said that, and I have to agree you do have a point. Lol didn't realize it when I read the book, I just enjoyed it so much.

Exactly what I was thinking while reading this book. The author did well though by giving readers something a bit different, it made his story somewhat novel.
