I have never read and/or watched Twilight but with the plot points that you mention, it does feel a lot like it! I will have to go and check Twilight out before you throw bricks at me!

Yaas! There's a striking resemblance. The unique eye colours and the supernatural powers and the romance.

I have to admit I thought this when I read the blurb. Twilight is not something I'm interested in at all so it almost put me off reading. The reviews and your comments on here make it sound like it's worth a read though so I think I'll give it a go.

I loved the Twilight Saga, so I will definitely be reading this!

I definitely agree. Additionally, the concept of "synching" with another Descendent to me seemed very similar to the way werewolves imprint in Twilight. The book reminded me of a hybrid between Twilight and the 2005 movie Sky High about teen superheroes. The scene where the teen Descendents showed off their powers reminded me of when the kids got to Sky High for the first time and demonstrated their powers to the coach.

The werewolves part makes it similar. The manifestation of supernatural powers and how the powers possess the main characters is awesome.

If you loved the Twilight saga, you will definitely enjoy this book!
In that case, I'm interested, too. I loved Twilight and would definitely enjoy something similar to that!

This book seems to have all the best parts of twilight. :) I'll definitely check it out.
The book to read is not the one that thinks for you, but the one which makes you think.

Yes some definite similarities to the Twilight Saga I fully agree. What I think perhaps differentiates this from Twilight is the character development as the plot goes on, which is something I find really intriguing. This does not happen so much in Twilight, which is more to do with the regular stimuli provided by the twists and turns, which is what makes it more applicable to a slightly younger audience. One thing which is very similar is the gripping nature of the story, you are always on your toes! I thought Twilight was good but I absolutely loved this book! The plot has so much more depth and it is very unpredictable.

Oh, I definitely agree with you on all your points. And yes, I absolutely loved Opaque because of those exact reasons: more depth and very unpredictable!

After reading through this forum, I think I've definitely sealed my desire to not read this book! I wasn't a huge fan of Twilight, it was an all right series. I never truly finished it, but I wouldn't want to read it again nor watch the movies again. They just weren't in my wheelhouse. I'm glad to see some others have enjoyed this book, though!

It did remind of Twilight, and that's not a good thing in my book (no pun intended).
