Adam’s transformation from an introverted loser to a socially active adventurer is a gigantic turn around for me in this book, opaque. Having lived a life without friends, Adam actually found a way to become likable and cool. Adam’s character is a heroic one in the sense that he made everyone proud of not the boy he was, but the man he had become.
