Advice on a New Exciting Book?

Post by booksnpoetry »

I have pretty much read everything at my library and am looking for a good read by any new or interesting author. I like fantasy, mystery, and horror the most.

Well, Depending on your age you might enjoy Emerald and the Magic of Raynon by Manda Spring. It is a children's fantasy. talesofmagic is the website to find more info about the books There is a lot of information about the books and the author. I came across the books on amazon. My children are very picky readers but they seemed to like this one.

As far as new mysteries you might want to check out Practice makes Perfect by S.L. Bradish. It's an interesting mystery. well good luck to you!!

I have done the same! That's one reason I started with my website to find and help promote newer authors. Come check out my reviews. I have found some really great new books!

My new book, Raining Jane, is a mystery/suspense/thriller, horror, fantasy/sci-fi book that also has a partial religious theme.

Raining Jane
By Nikolas Costello

Hardcover
237 Pages

Category---Horror/suspense

DESCRIPTION

An explosion ripples through New York, killing everyone. But there are some survivors. Among those survivors is a woman named Jane. She wakes up after the explosions, lost and confused. Everyone around her is dead. Except for a man. He watches her, waiting for the right time. He loves her, and he wants her—dead. But he isn’t the only one watching her, isn’t the only one who wants her. Jane survived the explosion for a reason. She was chosen. She is the savior. But there was more than one explosion. The whole world is dead. Jane soon finds herself fighting for her life. Told at a breath-taking pace, Raining Jane will leave readers wondering until the final, shocking page.

If you could be more specific on what you like it would be easier. Such as what you dislike.

I definatley agree! I devoured the series in 5 days.

Here are some recommendations~

If you like Vampires there is the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyers or
Vampire Diaries by L J Smith

Mystery then there is the Cameryn Mahoney Series by Alane Ferguson. They are named the Christopher Killer, The Angel of Death, and Circle of Blood. (They are not called the Cameryn Mahoney Series but they need to be read in the order I posted, and they are all related.)

For Horror maybe Stephen King? A science fictionish book/creepy book there is Peeps by Scott Westerfield.

When I ran out of boks to read I went to amazon.com and got an account. I looked up all the books I hade read and checked them off as I own them and rated them. Amazon comes up with a list based on what you have previously enjoyed. It's not great but it helps. I'll tell you when I think of more books!

Glen Duncan's books are all a bit twisted and focus on the devil/occult in a non-devil worship way (hope this is making sense!). They do make for interesting reading expecially I, Lucifer which is basically where the devil gets a second chance to live his life over and gain entry into heaven. Darkly funny
Don't judge a book by it's cover - not always good advice
