Empire of the Moghul: Raiders from the North

Post by Anumalhotra »

History lovers cannot afford to escape this brilliant and first in the series of the 'Empire of the Moghul' book by Alex Rutherford. The way he unravels the story page by page, the characters seem to have come to life. The book is the real story of the Moghul ruler Babur, a ruler of Kabul, who invaded India and laid down the foundation of one of the mightiest empires that ruled North for many centuries. Babur, since he loses his father at the age of 12, has to see a life full of struggles, bloody confrontations, and endless wars. He puts his every effort to realize the wish of ruling Samarkand, but destiny has stored something else for him.

The book is crafted skillfully, with vivid descriptions. Behind his eternal struggle lies a long saga of violence, betrayal, and above all, the role of destiny in shaping the future events. After reading the book, we develop admiration for the main protagonist on one hand, and a surprising shock to see how his character changes from being a benevolent king to a ruthless warrior. Though the story is real, a few imaginary incidents and characters have also been added.

Looking forward to read other books in the series :)
