Official Review: Short Obsessions - A Collection

Short Obsessions- A Collection by J.V. Nolan is a collection of short erotic stories. I happen to enjoy a little sexiness in my reading from time to time so I did enjoy this. I think my only complaint may be that there wasn’t too much variety. Of the five very short reads, three of them were for those who love female on female action. There is also not much story. Maybe a line or two for the situation setup but mainly it is just a sex scene.

The stories have their characters dabbling in different sexual situations. A couple that enjoys playing in S&M. A massage that gets really personal between two friends. We have some naughty neighbors play a game of voyeurism. To round out the stories you have your usual naughty student and a very memorable first time.

Erotica is not usually everyone’s cup of tea and many think that it is something very easy to write. Throw in some dirty words and you’re done. That is not how GOOD erotica is written and I think J.V. Nolan knows that. The stories do not read like they came straight off a cheap porno script. Now that’s not to say they are soft core, because they most certainly are not. The stories just have a nice balance between sexy and smutty.

Now this book also has a book cover attached. Can’t say I’m the biggest fan of a bottom in the air wearing only a teeny panty. But, I guess it gives you the right idea of what you will find in the pages. You also have an explicit content warning and a notice that this book is meant for adults aged 18 years and over.

Short Obsessions opening tag is “saucy scenes to get you in the mood…” I must say, it will most definitely put your mind in the right space. I give it 3 out of 4 stars. This really is a very short book of short stories. I think J.V Nolan has the right idea and can easily create more quality steamy reads. I just ask that maybe they have some more story instead of just sex. For what it is worth, this was a god job.
