I saw Watchmen and then read the book and I was hooked. That got me into the phylosophy and comic book characters. Up to now I have read a few : Batman and Phylosophy, Watchmen and Phylosophy (not all chapters, just on Rorschach) and have now bought Metallica and Phylosophy ,which btw everyone laughs at me about it.lol
The Trial is amazing ,it represents the novel so well as Crime and Punishment.
The Walking Dead, another great series to read and the art beautiful.
Anyone else?

Most people get started on the Maus series. Persepolis is excellent. If you're looking for something a little weird, a little greek tragedy, and a little Dune-esque, read the Metabarons series.
There are also lots of classic novels being remade in graphic novel form. I just read a super-trippy graphic novel version of Kafka's Metamorphasis.
