Review of Glitch
Broken and hurting people only end up hurting and breaking others, creating more hurting and broken people. Glitch by B. E. Miller is a mystery and suspense novel that delves into the life of a man dealing with the demons of his past and present. It also tells the story of how broken people hurt everyone around them and themselves in the process.
Ben Johnson, also called Benny, was a troubled man who was involved in a car accident that claimed the life of his father. His mother committed suicide afterwards, and he ripped the nerves in his shoulder, which ended his blooming baseball career. He was moving through life as a ghost until his friend, Mary, was killed right outside his workplace. This led to his involvement in a lot of troubling and life-threatening circumstances, and he must find a way to fight his demons and move on.
I really enjoyed the book. The book was creatively written with a great deal of suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. The storyline revealed a deeply troubling nature of greed and delusion, which was scary and equally thrilling. The characters were vividly described, which made it easy to follow the story and understand their actions. The plot and writing style were perfectly described and beautifully executed, making it a very interesting read.
Although I enjoyed reading the book, I disliked the overuse of profanities in the book, which I found extremely excessive. I also did not enjoy the bad portrayal of sex, even between couples, and BDSM, which I found extreme, although I understood that it was a part of the storyline. In addition to that, I found the gruesome murders, which were described in explicit details, very unnerving and frightening. Despite these dislikes, I enjoyed the book due to its beautifully written and suspense-filled storyline.
I rate this book four out of five stars. I removed a star because of the dislikes I mentioned above. The book was expertly edited, and I found no grammatical or spelling errors while reading it. This book is not suitable for younger and extremely sensitive individuals due to its graphic sexual content, explicit murder details, and huge amount of non-borderline profanity. I recommend this book to adults without the aforementioned aversions who have an interest in suspense and mystery novels. I also highly recommend it for individuals looking for a good thriller novel. This is a very good read that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
