Fifteen-year-old Knat Lio from Kloffus County loves solving mysteries. He recently sent out flyers of his new private investigation office. Is there a missing cat, dog, or lost jewelry? Knat Lio can help you find them in a minute.

Knat Lio was about to finish his work for the day when Kassandra arrived, seeking his help. Knat was excited to be solving a new mystery. Turns out, Kassandra needed his help to get her brother, Kwame Southington, to avoid jail time. He and his buddies, Pique, Bernard, Juan, and Victor, are the prime suspects in the Iron City heist. Their first attempt was successful. The drug dealer sold drugs and took money. As he was counting the money, Pique and his gang ambushed the dealer with firearms and weapons. They hit him, took the cash, and escaped unscathed. Their second heist was troublesome. It ended with the exchange of bullets, which required hospitalization of members on both sides. Juan on Pique’s side and Flu on the dealer’s side got hurt. The hospital informed police as per legal protocol. Therefore, Kassandra needed Knat’s help. This is a lot to ask a fifteen-year-old! How will he help Kassandra? Or will he back out of the case? Does Kwame and his buddies escape jail time?

Knat with a K by Michael Twelve offers deep insights into why teenagers go astray. The author uses Antonio Fluellyn, aka Flu, as a focal point to discuss all the elements that lead youngsters into crime. Teenage pregnancy, broken homes, poverty, and the wrong circle of friends are some of the reasons the author highlighted that plunge vulnerable teens into a dark place. The characters are sketched out well. I liked Viola Fluellyn’s character. She gave birth to Flu when she was a teenager. As a single parent, she fought her way up for her child and finally became a nurse practitioner. She gives in her all to be both a mother and father to Flu. Her courage, resilience, immense love for Flu, and fighting spirit are encouraging to the reader.

Narrated in third person, the author makes sure to not bore the readers with unnecessary details. Michael’s descriptions do not go overboard and stick to the point of discussion. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I have deducted a star because a major part of the novel covers Flu’s story, whereas the protagonist is Knat. This is my personal opinion. There are instances in this novel where profanity is used, and, therefore, reader discretion is advised. I enjoyed reading this book, and I recommend it to readers who enjoy reading fictional action drama.

Sounds like a book I would enjoy. I wonder if Knat will be able to help Kassandra. Congratulations on this detailed review, Runan!
