In Death by Chaos by Renaii West, we explore the lives of four charismatic women—Tasha, Elizabeth, Dawn, and Miranda at their Southern California liberal arts college. Their seemingly perfect world is shattered when a shocking murder occurs just before graduation, casting suspicion among them and leading to a two-decade-long silence filled with secrets. As a reunion approaches, Tasha is compelled to confront the haunting memories of that fateful night, especially with the arrival of a mysterious stranger threatening to unearth the past. With a blend of wit, intrigue, and a touch of mythology, West crafts a captivating story that explores friendship, deception, and the quest for truth.

This book is enjoyable to read, and the author managed to brilliantly and evenly mix mystery and fun. Although all the main characters are women, I enjoyed it, so it's clear that the audience is vast. What I liked most and caught my attention was diving into the reality of California in past decades. Incredibly, even a state known for being liberal contained several anachronisms and individuals who used money and conservative discourse to project a false image. That's what I liked most about this work. Besides, the book is flawlessly edited, and I couldn't find a single grammatical error.

There was nothing that I disliked about the book. Some dialogues seemed artificial like the protagonists had ready-made speeches to appear cool and modern, but this did not hinder the reading. Therefore, I did not find anything negative to mention.

Overall, Death by Chaos is a very well-written book full of suspense, flirtations, and references to Greek mythology in a California that is much less liberal than today. I enjoyed reading it and didn't find anything negative to mention, so I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

Death by Chaos is highly recommended for readers who enjoy a mix of mystery, strong female characters, and a touch of humor. Fans of contemporary fiction who explore complex relationships and the impact of past events will find this novel especially engaging. The book's exploration of friendship, deception, and personal growth makes it appealing to a broad audience, including those interested in stories set in vibrant, historical contexts. While it primarily features female protagonists, its universal themes and relatable experiences ensure that anyone who appreciates a well-crafted narrative will enjoy this captivating tale. Whether you're a mystery enthusiast or a lover of character-driven stories, this book is a must-read. In any case, there are several descriptions of sexual scenes and an excessive amount of profane words. To make it more palpable what I mean by "excessive amount," I will exemplify that the word "sh*t" appears 38 times in the book. Therefore, it is a book that should not be read by anyone under 18.

Wow! What do you know, I also just finished reading this book and I loved it just as much as you! I also rated it full five stars. I must say, the banter between the Goddesses of Rom 407 were hilarious, wouldn't you agree? Trisha was my character. She was fun, explosive, and just unpredictable. Thank you for writing this review. I got a different perspective from you that I missed when reading the book.
‘When you do a good deed, people are grateful, and that creates a nice feeling inside you; and then because it feels good, that makes you want to do more good deeds. That repetition is the cycle of goodness.’
