It's a pleasure to see the Book of the Day is a book written by a Nigerian in a way that resonates with Nigerians abroad. I had a big smile on my face as I read the part you said the book got you laughing. I can only imagine! I didn't quite understand what you meant about 'her mother and aunt, who are just 5 years older'. Thank you for the review!

The uncertainty surrounding Samira's work and relationship with Midowa heightens the drama and makes the book interesting.

I love the themes explored in this book. However, my favourite theme is autism. Having worked in institutions where autistic children are catered for.
Good job!

This book beautifully captures the complexities of career decisions, cultural identity, and relationships through the lens of Samira, a Nigerian psychologist navigating life in America. The book’s exploration of family dynamics, autism advocacy, and cross-cultural experiences makes it a relatable and enriching read for Nigerians abroad and fiction lovers alike. Nice review.

I like that the author incorporated weighty subjects, such as autism and sickle cell disease, into the book's plot. Adjusting to a different culture can't be easy, and I am curious to learn how Samira handles the challenges of being an immigrant.

"Running Between Trees" is authored by Gogo C. Okeke. The plot revolves around Samira, a psychiatrist working at an autism center in America. She comes from a Nigerian family. She recalls her family members and her surroundings, which inspired her to understand the finer points of psychology and study psychology. She also describes the social environment of America and the difficulties in treating young children at autism centers.

Samira is living two lives in two different countries, but which one will become her home is the question. I'm excited to go on this cross-culture journey that's fueled by hopes and dreams. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.
