Hallelujah

Post by Briar »

Every year I sing in our towns annual Messiah concert. It's been performed for at least 69 years (impressive for a small town). Someone recommended Hallelujah, by J. Scott Featherstone. I've always been in awe of the Messiah and that a mortal man composed that really hard to sing music in 24 days. Anyone else read it?

I like the Spring performance of Handel's Messiah. Rejoice Greatly is one of my favorite choral performances (is that what they are called?).

Sorry, I haven't read it though.

I'm not sure I've ever heard Rejoice Greatly as anything other than a Soprano solo. I sing alto in the choir (where I'm safely unheard :D), but our choir, our orchestra, and our soloists are all wonderful.
Handel first performed his Messiah for Lent. There would never be a time it wasn't pertinent.

You're right. It's a solo. I am not very knowledgeable about music!

I still love it though!

I'm not either, but the music is dear to my heart. :)
