When I first started reading the book The Weapon of My Delusion by Ambrose Vendetto Bruno, I was completely confused and could not find a storyline. However, I am not one to give up easily, so in time the story started to become clear to me. The main story is between two men, Boss Samuels and Joe. In fact, Joe is the main character of this story. He belongs to a gang known as the KBH or the King Bounty Hunters. Their main purpose is to Quarry or kill whomever they have been entrusted to get rid of. It is their life purpose and job. All members are to remain loyal to the Group, the Code and to Boss Samuels, before anything else. There are many Bounty Hunters, each at their own levels, ranging from newcomers to the experienced known as Elites. Joe is the most valuable of the KBH and is an Elite and the Premier King Bounty Hunter.

However, everything seems to change one night when Joe’s woman is found dead with four bullets through her chest, as is Joe’s signature method, and Joe himself has gone missing. Boss Samuels gives the order that Joe needs to be taken out, even though that goes against the very Code of killing a fellow KBH. Soon what follows is the nationwide hunt down for the greatest of their hunters.

Even though this is happening at the surface level, there seems to be more deeper and complex troubles that we learn about as we progress though the book.

We also come across many other characters, each with their own personality and story. Among these are important KBH members St Stephen, Arnold Layne, Lovely Rita, Breeze, Susie Q, Lola, Poor Tom and numerous others. There is also Kurtis and his Wagon of Peace, Puppy Grind and his Gang and Brandi Johnson the policewoman.

Joe, on the other hand, has taken himself across the country, and is shooting dead those who come in his way. He manages to rope along a girl named Nadine on his journey.

After several chapters I began to enjoy reading the book and my opinion of the book changed remarkably to a much more favorable one. The story contains adventure, suspense, intrigue and even humor, and readers who like this combination will certainly enjoy this book.

One of the shortcomings of this book is the style that it is written in. it is filled with metaphorical, adjectival language that sometimes comes across as over the top and superfluous. And at times the reality and fantasy of certain characters gets mixed up. The other thing is that it had too many different characters in the story, and this could overwhelm a person as they cannot keep up with each person’s individual story.

Although I did not think that I would enjoy the book when I read the first bit of the book, I surprised myself by actually greatly enjoying it. By the end of the book I had changed my mind about the book and for this reason I am giving the book two out of four stars.

It sounds like the large number of characters make the story line somewhat difficult to follow. You provided a great review. I think your review will help people understand the book better before they start reading it!

The book was very fast- paced, and it was actually not a bad read, but in other books you get only get a few main characters, and their personalities are expanded on. This book had so many different characters and personalities, and each of their back stories were explained that sometimes I had to stop reading and think about each character. Other than that I enjoyed the story, but if it was somewhat simplified it would have been much more successful, in my opinion.
