The Inkheart trilogy

Post by Mistborn »

I just recently saw the movie and to my surprise I found myself enjoying it quite a bit. Granted it seemed like a child's movie but as a reader of books the whole idea of it seemed quite fascinating.

I looked it up and there seemed to be 3 books from which this movie was derived. Would they be a good read for an adult who's read many of the bigger fantasy authors such as; Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson, G.R.R Martin, Terry Goodkind, etc..?

I've yet to look much into it, but I thought it'd be worth making a post to see what information I could get on the book from people who've possibly read the books.

Thanks much!

I'm nearing 30 and I LOVED the series. The movie was just so-so in my opinion so if you liked it I definitely recommend the books. I've found that just because something CAN be read by a Young Adult crowd doesn't mean it SHOULDN'T be read by adults. A good, well-written story about the love of books...how can you go wrong?? The 3rd book in the series is the best but all are good...another series to check out is His Dark Materials, which begins with The Golden Compass.

I loved the books. I admit, I only read the books because I heard the movie was coming out, and I prefer reading books prior to watching their movie counterparts... but in the end, I preferred the books to the movie. While the movie stayed true to the books in a few places, and did some good casting, I definitely loved the books and would recommend reading them if you enjoyed the movie. Really, I dont know what to write other then I loved it all, the story itself, the characters, the imagery... all of it haha. So I hope you read, and enjoy the books :D

Great, let us know how you find them, and how you think it compares to the movie.
