Phantom by Susan Kay

This book is fanfiction based off of the well-known musical and book Phantom of the Opera. Susan Kay explores the beginnings of the Opera Ghost and his history. This book uses several different viewpoints to create a moving tale. Besides providing history and background for the Opera Ghost, it tells the Opera Ghost's point of view during the time the story takes place. It takes some creative liberty with the original story, although Andrew Lloyd Webber almost completely re-wrote the story for his musical. However, it keeps the charcters' personalities and attitudes and include an ending I did not see coming. A fantastic read for anyone who enjoys either the musical or book.
