Brown is not a phenomenal writter, He is a marketing phenomenon. His books are all meant to be hollywood blockbusters. As novels, they are weak and predictable.
I think they are superficial, and anyone who is a little experiencied with fiction novels would not experience any surprise along its plots.
However, if you do keep that in mind, you can still have fun reading them.
My rating:
Digital Fortress 5/10
Deception Point 8/10
Da Vinci Code 7/10
Angels and Demons 8/10
Lost Symbol 5/10

I agree with almost everything you said there, especially with his books becoming predictable, however personally i would put Digital Fortress at 8 out of 10 and Deception Point at 5 out of 10, which i felt was a very protracted and weak book.keep.walking wrote:My thought on it is:

I found the action and ending of deception point more enjoyable than digital fortress.
Somehow, I think Digital Fortress is hard to believe, that password (3) is something i just couldnt buy, and the female character is too much underdeveloped. Just my point of view.
I gave 8 for Deception Point for the Iceberg part, and the scientists characters. Some funny conversations, the fight on the snow. As a second thought, i think Deception point deserves a 7 out of 10 at maximum.

Anyway, these ratings of ours are more a way of self expression than a trust parameter, if you know what i mean.
