Merry Christmas to you, too, i have read The Road and rate it as one of the best books i have ever read and its a popular choice amongst the members here, there is a thread on this book set up already so any comments you have should go there thanks again:Slipstream wrote:I just finished this book last night and I loved it. It's about a father & son together as they struggle to survive in a post apocalyptic world. It's engaging and real emotional and by the end I actually had tears in my eyes. I have not seen the movie version of the book but can't watch to watch.

When McCarthy started writing about the mother I felt the tears. The ending was unbelievable. This is a book that I will never, ever be able to forget. However, I was not a fan of his writing style (sorry!!). But, if his other books have such amazing stories, I will definitely be able to get past his writing.

Tough to say.
I'd read Suttree, then Child of God, then Blood Meridian.
After that, jump into The Border Trilogy (All the Pretty Horses, The Crossing,
and Cities of the Plain). That will lead you to No Country for Old Men.
His other stuff didn't really leave an impression on me - stuff being The
Orchard Keeper and Outer Dark.
