If you don't hate anything, then I'd have to suggest Kim Harrison's The Hollows.
The way the characters are portrayed is amazing, and how easy it is to really get involved and caught up in the storyline is great.

I suggest Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater and also The Joe Pitt Series by Charlie Huston... great reads... different ends of the spectrums though

well, if you're looking for a book that will make you laugh, you should try "where rainbows end" (also called "Love, Rose") by Cecelia Ahern.

Check out Fire by Mima. It's an awesome book! Someone recommended it to me and couldn't put it down. I think the first chapter is profiled on Amazon so you should prob go there first to check it out. But I loved it!!!!

Tokyo Vice by Adelstein... great book and excellent insight on the seedy underground of Japanese culture, which is the most sexually charged of them all.

Terry Pratchett's- The Wee Free Men, A Hat Full of Sky, and Wintersmith

Jonathan Kellerman has some excellent crime/mystery books.
The Murder Book, and Monster are two.

Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child wrote some good ones too, like Brimstone.

Or... Juliet Marillier's The Sevenwaters Trilogy.

And, haha, Mercedes Lackey's The Elemental Masters

Haha, or my friend's favorite author- Sherrilyn Kenyon (also Kinley MacGregor) who's most noted for her Dark-Hunter series.
Though I don't like the way "vampires" are explained in her book and sort of how they mix with the old gods...

Hold Up The Sky by Patricia Sprinkle

Title based on african proveb that says women hold up 1/2 the sky. about 4 women in SOuth down on their luck who are there for each other. Spiritual undercurrents.
