The Hollows series by Kim Harrison

So I started reading this series forever ago it seems... Ive always been into the whole "supernatural" kind of book/movie, so I pretty much expected it would be amazing. However I had no idea how much the characters would just come alive for me. I never really have a problem with characters in books, as most are believable, but these ones are just so quirky and hilarious its hard to put the book down. I am constantly dying to read the next book! I have yet to read the short stories by Kim in her anthologies... and I was wondering if anyone else has and if they would recommend reading them?
