Probably not a book for me, because from the description of the synopsis to the summary in the review, it doesn't sound like the story is very plot-driven, which is how I prefer my adventure novels. If I want a book to immerse myself in the beautiful setting of the Colorado Rockies and learn about the natural wonders of the area though, this would be an excellent read for a quiet and relaxing afternoon.

Thanks for the interesting review. While I do enjoy fictional novels, I don't think that this book will be a good choice for me. I don't think that the outdoor focus of this story, of the characters educating, and exploring will be a book that piques my interest. I believe that the Colorado Rockies are beautiful but I think that I would rather explore it for myself in person than try to indulge in a fictional story.

This book is not for me but I can see that those interested in Colorado (particularly its flora and fauna) would find it a good book. Thanks for the review.

Glad to know that this book is not only a story of a young adult Danny Gray in the Colorado region, but also has nice description about the beauty of that region. In addition to all, this review tells us that this book seem to educate us on several aspects which is a added bonus. I should be reading this book soon.

I've never been to Colorado and I believe I would ever be able to go there. However, reading this book may be able to help me picture life in the 1950's there. There's plenty of adventures to read on as well. I added the book to my to-read list.

Set in the background of the mighty Colorado Rockies of the 1950s, the story portrays the region's astounding beauty. The readers would enjoy the several adventures narrated in the story – exploring the dangerous abandoned mining areas, buying and flying an airplane, emergency landing and fueling of the airplane, the treks and the picnics in the mountains, encountering the ghost train and the mountain lion, helping a pregnant woman using the jeep during a heavy blizzard, etc.
Sounds like it is filled with adventures. Fro mwhat I read in the sample, the beginning is very slow, though. I'm glad it picks up

I'm not one to read personal books about experiences with nature and outdoors. I grew up in the city most of my life and while I do go to provinces for vacation, sightseeing and a swim (I love beaches), my life has always been in the city. I've read the first few chapters of John Wickersham's Morning is Always Nigh and the review by rs1977. I'm struck by the joy, passion and enthusiasm of Danny Gray for his life in Colorado and his childhood in the great outdoors, among the mountains, the rivers and everything that exist in nature. Danny Gray is so connected to nature that it defined his lifestyle and shaped his life and view of it. While we usually read about the alienation, disconnection, escapism and introverted lives of many among the young, we encounter the Grays in this book, healthy, energetic and adventurous, fully appreciative of their place and surroundings. How many of us have a happy remembrance of our childhood? How many of us recall our growing up years, our coming-of-age in proximity with nature, with such affection that we are compelled to write about it and share it? We always read about the dark sides of human nature, complications, loss and sadness in fiction. These are compelling stories for they mirror ours. But once in a while, we get to read about a childhood happiness and adventure in connection with a place. No magic, no fantasy, no intrigue. Just recollections of a boy growing into a man and we wonder whether we missed out on something.

Morning Is Always Nigh by John Wickersham is a work of fiction depicting the #Adventure and #ComingOfAge of Danny Gray and his siblings amid the grandeur of the Colorado Rockies in 1950s.

Your review has given me enough interesting things that can be read in this book. Thank you.

The Gray kids and their adventures in the fifties! I'd give this book the subtitle Fifties' Shades of Grays. Three kids in a loving family are meant to evoke good vibes and instill lessons in readers young and old. Is the book fiction? It rings so true.

Danny sounds like a very adventurous young man. I've always wanted to travel to Colorado, and it seems as though reading this book would give me a chance to experience the region without ever leaving my couch!

As much as I agree that Colorado can be spectacular, I’m sadly not into outdoor/adventure books, so I’ll pass on this.

I've never been to Colorado, but oh man, just from reading the review, it seems reaaly enticing! So much nature and so many adventures waiting to be discovered!
