ButterscotchCherrie wrote: 08 Dec 2017, 14:02 It's interesting that when Baingana hits rock bottom, he has this dream or vision that takes the form of a spiritual journey. It's a shame that this didn't break any new ground, but then again it's always good to be reminded of these spiritual messages - a refresher course, as you say.

This reads as though written by a non-native English speaker - and believe me, I strongly admire anyone who can speak a second language fluently enough to even attempt to write in it! What it does mean, though, is that it is important to have a strong editor with native English language skills.

I like that each character Baingana meets he learns more about humility and how to be a better person towards others. I also like that he meets Sophia on a train and I can easily picture the business of the train station. I understand how a the ideas put forth in this book are not new and I agree with your rating.

I don't usually like spiritual/inspirational novels and while reading your review I felt like I've heard stories like this before. Then at the end of your review you also mention that the ideas are not new, so I think I'll pass on this book. But great job on your review!

Not my sort of genre but sounds like an engaging read for people who like to stories with themes of self-discovery and being true to one's self.

This does sound like an interesting read! I actually enjoy books with a bit of a spiritual journey so it will be interesting to see how this one compares to other books that I enjoy. Thank you for the great review giving insight into the book.

Hey, Jaime, you are back!

The story started well. But the part where Abner makes Baingana read a poem was a little off for me. Nevertheless, I applaud the author's attempt to creatively put across spiritual lessons.

Thanks, Spirit Wandering, for your insightful review! You know what? We are all wandering spirits!
