I think it would be cool to read the adventures of a 12-year-old boy in Colorado in the 1950's. In a way, it seems unique. Great review.

Thanks for the interesting review. I've heard that Colorado is a beautiful state and maybe one of these days I'll get there. In the meantime, it sounds like I can have quite the adventure from my sofa as it sounds like this author makes the story and characters come alive. Well done.

This seems like an entertaining way to learn about Colorado and its nature, and serves as a good source of education on nature and other aspects.
Congrats on #BOTD!

I had no idea the book included so many little tips and tricks for everything from fishing to photography. That alone makes me want to read it.

I am a city girl and do not really like to read books that are focused on nature only, so I do not think that this one is for me.

Great review. I am glad you liked it, but I think this one is not my cup. Never-the-less, I really liked the outdoors theme of the narrative. Thank you for sharing.

Some of the adventures sound quite exciting to read about, but the educational aspects just sound boring. I don't care to know anything more about trout than they are a fish and delicious to eat. Coming-of-age tales just aren't for me. I do like Colorado as the setting though. Such a beautiful area.

Great review! I would love to check out the pictures that you were talking about in the book. I always get a better sense of what the author is talking about when I can see photographs.

I absolutely love books with a message! And the touch of adventure makes this book even more interesting to read, so I'll make sure to check it out!

Based on the review, John Wickersham's "The Morning is Always Nigh: A Colorado Boyhood" sounded like a novel filled with adventures. However, I believe that I will probably enjoy the more informative aspect of the book that educates readers about the nature and wildlife of Colorado. I am especially interested in learning about fly-fishing.

Thank you for your succinct and well-written review. After my sampling of the book, I have to agree with you that the book really seems professionally-edited, information-rich, and insightful. Although my first impressions were that the protagonist and his family seemed too perfect and I would have preferred to readily glean the connection between the inside pages illustrations and the story text, I could also say that this fictional piece's lessons and significance give it the tinges of what makes a read worthwhile and meaningful.

Thanks for your review. It sounds like you really enjoyed the adventures of Danny and his siblings. I didn’t realize how detailed the book gets about fishing and even fishing flies. I’m not sure this one’s for me but it does look enjoyable for those that like this genre.
