I think the book is intriguing as the title itself " Saving Superman".At first glance, it seemed us another hero story. Reading the review, it made me realized that this book is something more and it is a great source of insights to PTSD which many people do not realize they have and people around them don't recognize.I would love to find out what is the traumatic experiences that Pete and his mother went through and how Jake, the veteran would help Pete since he himself also went through horrible experience as war veteran. It is an eye opener to all of us so we can always extend a helping hand to those who may have PTSD.Congrats to BOTD! Great review!

PTSD is no joke. It can be very serious. I am intrigued to read all this to see what happened.

How fortunate that Pete found Jake that evening! It is sad that he and his mom suffered in silence for so long. I think I’ll pass on this one, but I enjoyed your thorough review.

This looks like a heartbreaking book. I'm not sure if I'm up for reading a book with sexual assault and trauma right now. But the review says it has a satisfactory ending, so maybe I'll check it out later.

After reading the review I can't help but wonder, what happened to Pete ? What exactly is the Memphis experience; what exactly happened there? Saving Superman by Kathleen Sales sounds very intriguing. Although there is child maltreatment, abuse, sexual assaults and torture, this book is worth reading.
