The story of a young boy from a troubled family who dreams of becoming a great musician. The emotional fallout of Joey trying to decide where his love truly lies is interesting and engaging. I enjoyed reading your review.
Feeling upset sometimes may be unavoidable, but acting distressed is always optional.

I was too distracted (definitely not normal) to really get into this book today. So, I went back and read the review. It really sounds like one I would enjoy. Many people have a life as a youth such as this, and let it destroy them. But, it sounds like this person goes beyond setbacks and lack of support to make something of himself.

:techie-studyingbrown: This review would earn the author readers, especially readers who love music. I like the way you portrayed the writer and her work, it’s gives this anticipation that can only be quenched by drinking from the book.
Not my perfect genre, but I would want a bite because of your review.

The plot is interesting and the character and their issues relatable. The story seems solid and kept interesting by the talent that the author has in penning a dramatic novel with a mix of romance, family issues and difficult choices. Congrats!

One thing i love about this book is the resilience in times of hardship and opposition. The worst opposition coming from the parent. Joey's story tells it all. Congrats on the review on the book of the day.

Tears and trombones sounds like a great book Although I am not into playing an instrument. I do know what it's like to be driven by a goal. I believe I would love to see how Joey's life ends up.

I don't know if I'm ready for an emotional read but this book seems like worth every tears. I think people who like music can relate to Joey.

As beautiful as this book sounds, and as impactful and emotional the storytelling no doubt is, this just doesn't sound like a book I'd be interested in. I rarely read things pertaining to realistic fiction. This book will surely entertain plenty of others, but I myself think I'll pass.

Thank you for writing your review, in any case!

Thanks for your review! I feel so bad for Joey and his childhood trauma. Living with a drunken and emotionally abusive father must have been unimaginably difficult. I'm happy that music was able to serve as a reprieve for him. My experience with music was similar. Playing the clarinet as teenager was a wonderful thing that opened the world of music for me.
